Annual report and accounts 2023-24

In our report for the year ended 31 March 2024, we demonstrate demand for our services remains high. We provided a total of 12,326 lunches last year. At our two sites at Ness Bank Church and Hilton Community Centre, we provided an average of 1,200 lunches every month.

At Ness Bank Church Hall, we provided a total of 9,504 three-course lunches to approximately 4,752 people. This was compared to 8,568 lunches the previous year, an increase of 11%.

On 1 September 2023, in partnership with Highlife Highland and with funding from the Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund, we expanded our services to Hilton Community Centre. Providing two-course lunches on Wednesdays and Fridays, this service primarily seeks to reduce social isolation and loneliness as well as address food insecurity. We provided 2,822 lunches from September 2023 to March 2024 for approximately 700 people.

As in 2022-23, we extended our winter opening hours at Ness Bank to offer a warm hub and breakfast. Between 1 November 2023 and 30 April 2024 we provided a total of 884 breakfasts, compared to 1,048 the previous year, a 15% reduction.

While it all starts with food, Inverness Foodstuff is much more than just a meal. We aim to provide a holistic support model tailored to individual needs, working in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations.
