Preventing Food Poverty

Food is integral to daily life, not just for energy but also in the pleasure eating gives. That enjoyment is boosted if we share the experience with friends and family and don’t have to worry about the cost.
Increasingly many within our communities are struggling financially and cannot afford good food. At Inverness Foodstuff we tackle food poverty by providing nutritious three-course vegetarian meals via our drop in café three days a week at Ness Bank Church and twice weekly at Hilton Community Centre.
We also work closely with Inverness Foodbank (we are a referral agency) and ensure any donated surplus supermarket food, not used for our three-course lunches, is shared with participants to take home.
