Service Hub
While it all starts with the food, Inverness Foodstuff is much more than just a meal! We aim to provide a holistic support model that is tailored to individual needs. Our model is built on engaging with, and working in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations.
As well as providing a warm welcome, plenty of food and company, increasingly both our cafes operate as Hubs where advice and support can be accessed from a range of services and agencies.
These include:
- Money and debt advice; and other assistance from the Citizens Advice Bureau
- Health care support and access for homeless persons
- Digital inclusion support and services provided by Red Chair Highland
- Showers for homelessness rough sleepers, provided by Inverness Leisure
- Smoking cessation support from NHS Health Improvement
- Play and Learn for pre-school children by Care and Learning Alliance
- Advice and support for tenants of social housing provided by Highland Council
- Haircuts
We also provide practical support, such as clothing, tents, sleeping bags and towels for those experiencing homelessness.
The services and support provided at both our locations will differ. When visiting either you can find a list of services and support provided that month on the table displays.
As well as the organisations mentioned above we work with numerous other agencies and organisations to enable us to meet the needs of our participants. These include, but are not limited to, the Scottish Drugs Forum, Highland Council Community Payback, Highland Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, the Highland Foodbank (we are a referral agency), High Life Highland, and Artysan’s Intergenerational Project.
