INVERNESS FOODSTUFF SCIO

We are a well-established registered charity that delivers meals and access to advice and assistance (on a range of health, welfare and social needs) to approximately 100 participants each week at our drop in café.

We seek to employ a positive ‘people’ person in our new exciting role of

OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are looking for someone with proven communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and an ability to deliver services effectively – and, as many of our participants are homeless or experiencing difficulty in their lives, we seek someone who has the desire to work constructively with a range of people and other agencies to help tackle food poverty and loneliness amongst homeless and other people in need.

Our success is dependent on the continued contribution of (currently) around 90 volunteers. Ideally you’ll have experience of working with volunteers or the charity sector.

You will be responsible for the smooth running of Inverness Foodstuff’s day to day business and should be self-motivated, be able to work both independently, and as part of a team, to manage and develop IF’s operational activity. This includes, for example, recruiting and supporting volunteers; ensuring participants have a quality experience at IF, supporting communication and links with stakeholder services and contributing to ensuring continued funding. You will report directly to a nominated Board of Charity Trustee.

The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays your presence will be required at each IF lunchtime session at Ness Bank Church Hall.  The Board is happy to agree ways to deliver the remaining hours to suit the successful candidate and IF.

The salary is £30,000 per annum (with NI and pension contribution).

To find out more about the post, please email: invernessfoodstuff@gmail.com for a more detailed job & person specification and application form.

In your application you will need to evidence how your skills, experience and qualities meet the criteria in the job specification, why you are suitable and what you will bring to the role.

Closing date for applications is Friday 4 June 2021.

We are aiming to commence interviews the following week.  Ideally, you will start as soon as possible (dependant on current notice period etc.).
