The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of celebrating, recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland, aged between 12 and 25.
We were delighted and proud when one of our volunteers, Liberty, gained a Saltire Award recently.
Below Liberty gives a brief overview of her volunteer journey with IF:
My name is Liberty, I am 15 years old and I have been volunteering at IF since January 2018. I have also helped on Christmas Day 2017 and 2018 too. As I’m still at school I volunteer on Saturdays, but during the school holidays I help during the week too. Due to my work at IF I have received the ‘Young Ambassadors’ award from the school and I am also basing my National 5 English persuasive essay on IF. I recently claimed my 200 hour Saltire Award due to my voluntary work at IF too.
